100 Days At Sea Armor and Defense Guide

Chapter 6 - Defense. A defense chapter for armor, raft defense, raid prep, damage-reduction thinking and when new players should care about defense.

Chapter intro

Quick survival answer

Quick answer

Think of defense in two layers: your character needs survivability, and your raft needs safety. A strong weapon does not help if the raft collapses or you enter raids with no recovery plan.

Defense rule

Build defense before the game forces you to need it.

New players usually improve defense after a bad fight. Guidebook play means preparing before the bad fight happens.

Player use

Use this chapter during a real run

Pick the card that matches why you opened the page. It gives you the next safe move without asking you to trust untested drops, stats or route claims.

If you are starting now

Do the first safe move

Use class starter armor and reported armor names as leads, not final stats.

If you are stuck

Thinking weapons replace defense

Bring defense, healing and retreat options.

If you are comparing advice

Character armor

Reduce personal risk in fights Bring or check: Armor name, source, effect

If you want the next chapter

Bosses and Raids

Apply armor and raft safety to boss prep.

Guide

What to do first

Do these before chasing rare drops, region mysteries or long routes.

Move 1

Use class starter armor and reported armor names as leads, not final stats.

Move 2

Build raft defense and character defense together before risky regions.

Move 3

Before raids, check health, weapon, armor, raft safety and retreat path.

Move 4

Do not assume damage reduction values without testing.

Move 5

Record whether armor is a class starter, craft, shop item, chest item or drop.

Chapter FAQ

When should beginners care about armor?

Before risky islands, boss leads or raids. Early on, avoiding bad fights matters too.

Is damage reduction known?

Not as final numbers. Test before/after damage or visible stat text first.

Is raft defense different from armor?

Yes. Armor protects the character; raft defense protects your recovery platform.
