Boss Prep and Wipe Recovery

Which fights the public badges actually name, what to have before you start one, and how to rebuild after a loss without inventing health bars.

Start here

Quick answer

Do this first

Do not start a named fight until the raft can survive without you for a while, you have a weapon plan you have already used, and you can feed yourself after a failure. If you wipe, restore food and the trip home before you retry. Attack patterns and drop tables are still unchecked.

Guide

Why it matters

Named fights are public objectives, and they are also how a stable raft becomes a restart. Arms of Victory is the Squid Boss. King Of The Snow is the Ice Biome boss, with Arctic Rescue beside it for the penguins. Beat The Heat is the Lord of Lava, after Cooking With Golems tells you to unlock the volcano by tossing in three golems. Corruption Most Foul is the dungeon boss. There Can Be Only One is three rival rigs in one session. Third Bell Rung is the Ghost Galleon three times in a single run. If you cannot say which sentence you are sailing toward, you are not preparing. You are touring.

The numbers people want — health, attack timing, drop rates — are not on this wiki, because nobody here has filmed the pulls frame by frame. Inventing them would make the next wipe look like a stat check instead of a supply check. What is known is enough to decide whether today is a pull: a weapon you have already used, food for the fight and the sail home, a route home you have sailed once when nothing was chasing you, and a raft that still exists if you fail.

They'll be back, the ghost-raid badge, is the fight that comes to you. If that raid still ends the run, you are early for every boss on the bosses page. Preparation starts on the raft and in the crafting loop, not at the region marker.

Guide

Step plan

Before you sail toward a named fight

Name the objective

Use the badge sentence: Squid Boss, Ice Biome boss, Lord of Lava, Corruption Dungeon, three rival rigs, or the Ghost Galleon.

Badge-backed

Leave a living raft

Food, a bonfire you understand, and someone or something keeping the base from being a second crisis.

Planning rule

Bring a weapon you have practiced

A class gun or a chest gun is a lead, not a damage chart. If you have not used it on a normal threat, it is not ready.

Unverified stats

Decide the heal

Read the revive notes first. If you have never seen a revive prompt, assume a down might end the attempt.

Partly checked

Know the walk-away line

Low food, a lost route home, or a partner down with no prompt means you leave. Pride is not a badge.

Recovery

Retry only after the hole is closed

A second pull with an empty pot is how one wipe becomes a dead run.

Guide

Fight the objectives the game has already named

This wiki will not invent a boss roster to fill a tier list. The public badges already name the fights worth preparing for. Arms of Victory is defeat the Squid Boss. King Of The Snow is defeat the boss in the Ice Biome, and Arctic Rescue adds a penguin-rescue objective in that same biome. Beat The Heat is beat the Lord of Lava. Corruption Most Foul is defeat the Corruption Dungeon boss. There Can Be Only One is find and defeat all three rival rigs in one session. Third Bell Rung is defeat the Ghost Galleon three times in a single run. Those sentences are the prep list. Anything else you saw in a thumbnail stays a rumor until it matches one of these or you see it yourself.

The bosses chapter is the hub for those leads, including the volcano chain. The map chapter is where Ice, rival rigs, and the alien route are written as regions rather than as damage meters. Use both before you sail, and use this page for the decision they skip: are you allowed to go today, and what do you do if you lose.

They'll be back — survive a ghost raid — is not the same kind of appointment. Raids come to the raft. You prepare for them by making the raft livable, which should already be true by the time you hunt a boss. If ghost raids still end the run, you are not late for a boss. You are early. Go back to the raft guide and the first ten days.

Guide

A gear check that does not pretend to know the numbers

No health value, attack timing, or drop rate for these fights is published here, because this wiki has not recorded the fights frame by frame. The gear check is qualitative and you can do it on the raft. You want a weapon you can reload or swing without reading a guide in the middle of the pull. You want enough food that a long fight plus the sail home does not empty you. You want a recovery idea that you have seen in the UI, not one you hope a Medic perk includes. And you want the route home to be a route you have already used once when nothing was chasing you.

The weapons page separates harpoon tools, melee, guns, and the Magma Staff lead. Firepower says a gun can come from a chest, so a class starter is not the only legal weapon. Practice on ordinary threats first. If the weapon spends ammo you cannot replace, it is a bad boss weapon no matter how it looks, until you know the ammo comes back. That ammo question is unverified. Test it on something small.

Armor and raft defenses are in the same boat: the armor page records them as preparation topics, not as a defense spreadsheet. If your character screen shows a defensive item, wear the one you understand. If the raft has a defensive piece you have never watched fire, do not discover it during a boss. Discovery belongs on a quiet day.

Healing items and the medkit lead live on the items page and the revive page. Pack what you have already used to recover from a normal hit. A full inventory of unfamiliar potions is not a plan. We Need To Cook, the badge for every potion recipe, is an index goal. It is not the packing list for your first Squid attempt.

Guide

The volcano is a chain, so do not start at the boss

Cooking With Golems says you unlock the volcano by tossing in three golems. Beat The Heat is the Lord of Lava after that idea, not instead of it. Players who sail straight at the boss because a video title said 'all bosses' skip the step the badge itself puts first. If you cannot find or move the golems, you are not ready for the lord, and no class purchase fixes a missing unlock.

Fire Mage shows up in community class notes with a Magma Staff starter. That connection is a lead, discussed on the weapons page, not a requirement. A duo can send the more mobile player after golems while the other keeps the raft stocked. A solo player should do the golem step on a day when food is boringly fine, then sail home, then decide whether the boss day is tomorrow. Stacking unlock and boss into one hungry trip is how volcano attempts become restarts.

Ice is a similar pair. The boss badge and the penguin badge can tempt you to do both in one landing. Unless you already know the route, do the landing once for information: where you come ashore, what the cold or the enemies demand, and whether you can leave. Rescue and the kill can be the second landing. King Of The Snow does not include a map pin in its description. Do not trust a coordinate copied from a comment.

Rival rigs add a session rule: all three in a single session. That is a time-pressure badge. Start it only when you can afford to spend the session on the hunt. Opening chests and touring islands in the same session is how the third rig happens after you are already late and low. Corruption Dungeon is its own boss badge, with separate multiplier badges at 10x, 15x, and 20x that are clearly not the first visit. See the dungeon. Leave. Come back when you know what the corruption is asking you to risk.

What a wipe costs is still partly unknown, so plan for the expensive version

Death rules are not fully checked on this wiki. Some survival games drop you back on the raft with a bruise. Some delete the trip's loot. Some end the run. Until you have died once on purpose in a safe moment, or seen exactly what the UI does when a partner goes down, assume the expensive version: you lose the trip, you may lose what you were carrying, and the raft only helps if it is still there when you return. That assumption makes you over-prepare. Over-preparing is the correct error. Under-preparing is the one that deletes the day count.

A duo has a clearer recovery if one player never entered the fight. That player is the save file you can talk to. They should not chase you into a wipe to be loyal. Loyalty is restocking and marking the route. If both of you go, agree on a word that means leave, and practice leaving a normal fight first. The solo and duo class guide matters here because a Medic who has never produced a revive prompt is not a safety net. They are a second person who can fall over.

Ghost Galleon is the fight that teaches repeat wipes on purpose. The badge wants three kills in one run, not one heroic kill. If the first kill wrecks your supplies, you do not have a three-kill plan. Repair the supply line, then attempt the set. The same logic applies to any boss you expect to learn by dying: learning is allowed when the raft can fund the lesson.

Guide

Recovery order after you lose

First, get to a place that is not the fight. If you still control a character, sail or swim toward the raft you already trust, not toward another island that might be closer on a bad map memory. If the run reset, resist the urge to speedrun back to the boss marker. The boss will still exist. Your food habit might not, if you treat the new run like a revenge taxi.

Second, restore the loop that the fight consumed. Cook. Pull resources with the harpoon until storage looks like it did before you were brave. Repair or restock whatever defensive piece you actually used. The crafting progression page is the right mood: replace the station that failed before you add a new project. Players rebuild by crafting a fancier weapon with the scraps of a lost trip. That weapon then has no food behind it.

Third, write one sentence about the loss while it is fresh. Did you miss the golem step. Did you not know the way home. Did the weapon run dry. Did you both leave the raft. That sentence is the only change allowed on the next attempt. Changing three things means you will not know which one mattered, and you will call the boss unfair when the real issue was the empty pot.

Fourth, decide whether the next session is a retry or a different goal. A Day 20 or Day 30 badge does not require the Lord of Lava today. Sometimes the recovery is a quiet stretch of survival until the raid at home feels easy again. The walkthrough is a long route for that patience. Revenge is a short route back to the same wipe.

Guide

The mistakes that turn one wipe into the end of the run

The fatal pattern is speed. You die, you remember the shame more than the cause, and you leave again with half the food because the day counter is still moving and you do not want to 'waste' it. The day counter is the reason to slow down. Survive 50 Days and Rescued at Day 100 are public goals that reward staying in the game, not the number of boss attempts you can cram between meals.

Another pattern is trophy packing. Players hear Magma Chest or a special drop and fill the trip with theories. Those rewards are watchlist items on the bosses and items pages, not confirmed payouts. If you only enjoy the fight because of a drop you cannot verify, you will overstay. Go for the badge sentence you can read. Let a drop be a surprise you can carry home.

The last pattern is solo heroics in a duo, or duo clutter in a solo plan. If you queued alone, do not play a strategy that needs a revive from a stranger who may not exist. If you queued together, do not both refuse the home role. The party badges are proof the game respects both choices. They are not proof that improvising a third style in the loading screen will work.

When you are unsure, do a contact trip: sail to the region, look at the encounter, leave before it becomes a commit, and cook dinner on the raft. You learned the approach, which is the part guides cannot screenshot for you yet. The kill can be a later day. That is still preparation. It counts.

Common wipe mistakes

The wipe that deletes the run is the immediate retry. You remember the shame more than the cause, and you leave again with half the food because the day counter is still moving. Survive 50 Days and Rescued at Day 100 reward staying in the game. They do not reward the number of pulls you can cram between meals. Restore the pot and the harpoon pile before you ask the boss for a rematch.

The volcano wipe is skipping the unlock. Players sail at the Lord of Lava because a video title said every boss, and they never move the three golems the badge puts first. Ice does the same thing when the boss landing and the penguin rescue are stacked into one cold trip with no practiced route home. Coordinates are not in those badge descriptions. A comment pin is not a plan. Scout, leave, cook, then commit.

Death rules are still unverified. Some games drop you on the raft. Some delete the bag. Some end the run. Until you have seen the UI after a safe, deliberate death, assume the expensive version: the trip's supplies can vanish, and the raft only helps if you can reach it. A duo that both commits has no one left to resupply. A class labeled Medic does not change that until a revive prompt is something you have watched happen.

Retrying on empty

The second attempt needs the same food and route you wished you had on the first. Leaving faster just spends the raft's remaining margin.

Skipping the unlock step

The volcano badge names three golems before the Lord of Lava is a fair goal. Ice and corruption have their own first visits. Do the first visit.

Trusting a drop table

Special chests and staff leads are not loot promises. Fight for the badge you can read, and carry home whatever the game actually gives.

Both players committing

If nobody is on the raft, a wipe has no witness and no resupply. Leave one job at home until revives are something you have seen.

Guide

When to ignore this guide

Ignore this chapter for a contact trip. Sailing to a region, looking at the encounter, and leaving before it becomes a commit is still preparation, and you do not need a gear essay to do it. Write down the approach. The kill can be another day. Also ignore it when ghost raids at home are still the thing killing you. Fix that before you borrow trouble from a badge you have to sail toward.

Ignore any drop table, Magma Chest theory, or staff requirement you cannot see in your own reward screen. The Magma Staff is a lead on the weapons page, not a ticket to the Lord of Lava. Fight for the badge sentence you can read. Let a drop be a surprise you can carry home.

Ignore the recovery order only if you already know, from your own UI, exactly what a death keeps and what it deletes. When that is true, plan for the rule you saw, not for the expensive guess this page uses. Until then the guess is the safer one, and a guide that promises a gentle respawn is the page to close.

FAQ

Which boss should I fight first?

The one whose approach you have already scouted and whose badge you can afford to fail. Ghost raids at home come first in practice, because they find you. Named bosses wait until the raft is stable.

Do I need the Magma Staff for the Lord of Lava?

Nothing on this wiki proves that. The staff is a community and class lead. A weapon you have practiced is the requirement we will actually stand behind.

What do I lose if I die?

That rule is not fully checked. Prepare as if the trip's carried supplies can vanish and the raft only helps if you can get back to it.

Should I repair the UFO before any boss?

Grand Theft UFO, the laser puzzle, and the alien ship badges are their own route on the map page. They are not a substitute for food and a weapon if your current goal is a boss.

How many times should I retry in one session?

Once you can name what you changed. If the only change is anger, stop and rebuild the supply line. Three Ghost Galleon kills are a planned set, not three panicked pulls.

Evidence

Boss and raid names on this page come from public Roblox badge descriptions, including the volcano golem unlock and the three-rig session rule. Attack patterns, health, coordinates, drop tables, and the exact death penalty are not verified and are not invented here.
